ABOUT MARULA
Due to the perfect infrastructure of the area, Marula can be reached on a tarred road. Once there, the tar gives the floor to nature in its purest form and a four wheel drive vehicle is needed to advance through valleys and mountains and to move around the 15,000 Ha. of the farm.
When we acquired the farm, we decided that Marula had to be exclusively a hunting farm. So, this is what Marula is today. A huge but always totally open extension of land where animals roam freely with no obstacles or fences other than those enclosing the perimeter of the farm.
However, respect to nature does not exclude progress and both are combined in Marula for enjoyment and safety of its visitors. Therefore, you can get lost in Marula and its nice environment ... up to the level that you yourself decide as the farm is equipped with power supply and telephone lines. This is relevant in case you need to make an unexpected, but essential, connection through the internet, to send a fax or to contact somebody by telephone.
ACCOMODATION
Marula has a magnificent hunting camp with four tents, matching the environment. Every tent has a comfortable fully furnished double room and a private bathroom with hot shower facilities.
The central area of the camp is occupied by the ‘lapa’, an open space covered by a thatch roof. Most of the times, relaxing after the hunting session and enjoyment of Marula’s splendid cuisine will take place in the open air, under this lapa, from where animals coming to drink at the nearby waterhole can be observed and admired. In addition, the camp has a big enclosed lounge and dinning room where visitors can enjoy the warmth of the fireplace when the weather gets cold.
Electricity at the camp is provided by solar panels, benefiting from the sun that shines in Marula almost every single day. Therefore, no noise which would be caused by a generator spoils the quietness.
Marula offers an excellent cuisine. Apart from breakfast at dawn and tempting sandwiches during the hunting activity, you will enjoy a magnificent lunch upon return to the camp after the morning session. Later in the evening, an abundant dinner will accompany comments and discussions about the hunting day.
There is no limit for drinks offered in Marula which are provided without additional cost over the price of the safari. With or without alcohol, cool drinks, wine or liquors, the customer will decide according to his or her taste what and how much to drink.
